Did you know that?
Some ductworks are Equipment Important For Safety. As such, they must withstand to aggressions such as earthquakes.

According to their safety classification, they must:

  • Either preserve their integrity during the earthquake, and their operability after the earthquake.
  • Or maintain their operability during and after an earthquake.

Ventilation systems are a key point in the safety of installations in case of an earthquake in a nuclear Installation (INB).
Ductworks contribute to confinement, cooling and are essential to guarantee air renewal and good thermal conditions, even in accidental situations. The design and validation of the equipment’s ability to resist such scenarios is at the very heart of the requirements in force in the nuclear field.

Through its references of dampers and backdraught dampers dedicated to the nuclear field, F2A shows its expertise to perfectly meet the safety requirements.

Last January, our ARE backdraught dampers, and our CI shut-off dampers designed to withstand earthquake were tested in the Virlab laboratory. They will be installed by EQUANS teams as part of the large RJH project for the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).

Congratulations to the F2A air management and nuclear teams!
Thanks to BLUE.ENG and VIRLAB teams who supported us throughout the qualification process.
