TEXI-JET Textile ducts for VITAM'PARK

The internal aquatic center, of a surface about 4500 m2 possesses a dome in polymer ETFE, which requires an effective ventilation to demist walls. The MINO company, guarantor of the installation of the system, appealed to the expertise of F2A to answer these objectives. Because of its particular geometry and in aesthetic purposes, the establishment benefited from a system of ventilation by textile ducts on measure which becomes integrated easily into the architectural complex.
A study of diffusion was led by F2A. Four induction TEXI-JET ductsØ cloth 1000 mm of glass MB, were thus sized and installed. Each ducts is established with 12 elbows and 13 sections, for lengthes from 80 m to 90 m.
Taking into account the geometrical constraints of the skeleton, these elbows are in reality adjustable details rooms of orientation which allow to adjust the angle and the position of each section of ducts. Thanks to these parts, coming out from a specific produced development, the curvatures of the network of ducts are perfectly defined and so marry the lines of the dome. Made on measure, they can be realized in any diameter and length, and in various technical fabrics.
This aquatic center, opened to the public since October 2009, is an innovative answer to the increasing interest of the individuals for their well-being. About 600 000 visitors are expected each year in the park.

As a very attractive touristic destination, the island of Cyprus undertook the restoration of its two airports. Largest of the 2, the airport of Larnaka will be established on more than 100 000 m² to accomodate 9 million travellers per year.
The generators of this new airport, provided and installed by the company Cummins France, will profit from a soundproofing carried out using SONIE BS splitters from F2A.
After a thorough acoustic study, the engineering team of F2A determined the system limiting the noise level to 80 dB(A) at 10 m upstream and downstream from the installation.
Thus, the dimensioned splitters are 5m high for a 200 mm thickness. In order to reinforce them to ensure a resistance to 2 times their weight, they consist of 2 parts fixed together by a piece of junction (U) of 1 m length. The framework is out of galvanised steel of 0,8 mm thickness.
Fixed thanks to slides directly on the built elements, approximatively 200 splitters of this type equipped the 6 buildings with genreators.
With an initial budget of 622 million euros, the two airports should be in service this autumn 2009.

Water treatment plant of Marseille (France), Geolide

As a real technological challenge, Geolide, the water and muds treatment plant of the town of Marseille (France) is today the vastest buried purification plant in the world.
Its ventilation network alone treats more than 250.000 m3 of air per hour. Thanks to its expertise, F2A has been able to provide to the installation company, Crudeli in Marseille, the acoustic and regulation equipment requested for the good performance of the complex.
Concerning acoustics, more than 300 SONIE BS splitters have equipped the rectangular silencers. Subjected to acid effluents, the splitters in contact with the foul air required a specific design: the shaped frame is out of aluminium and the coating out of glass fiber.
After 36 months of work and a budget of 165 million euros, the new Géolide purification plant is operational since the beginning of the year 2008.

Maurice Lemaire Tunnel : MRS-T tunnel dampers

As one of the longest road tunnels entirely installated on the french soil (nearly 7 km), the Maurice Lemaire tunnel, between Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines (68) and Lusse (88) is beeing renovated to match the standards.
Thus a parallel safety gallery has been dug in order to renovate the ventilation system : fresh air network and extraction.
In spite of important technical constraints (resistance up to 10 000 Pa) for all smoke dampers, F2A has been able to bring a performant solution in conformity to the 2000-63 french circular in terms of fire resistance.
Tests carried out at the CETIAT in the presence of the company and project supervisor approved the MRS-T tunnel damper . These tests were related to the leak flow, the manoeuvrability of the damper and the measurement of the cycle time under pressure conditions from 0 to 10 000 Pa.
Thus, F2A has manufactured 68 MRS-T smoke dampers and 16 fresh air dampers for the tunnel's safety gallery. In complement, more than 250 AT backdraught dampers have been installed in the branches and the sub-stations.
With a projected budget of 180 millions euros, the renovation of this tunnel should be completed this autumn.
